With just 9 games left in the regular season, the Cubs have got a 1.5 game lead on the Milwaukee Brewers in the NL Central. The Brewers have been the proverbial monkey on Chicago's back all season; question is, Chicago at this point can't count solely on a little help from the opponents left on Milwaukee's schedule to clinch things outright. The Cubs have to step up & be ready to play themselves & prove that they're on a mission & nothing - not even the Marlins or Reds - can keep them from accomplishing something which for the past few seasons was beyond their reach.
Anything goes when you're in as tight a divisional race as Chicago & Milwaukee have been for much of '07. But if they keep playing consistent baseball, them Cubs could really turn some heads throughout the entire NL.
