Something for the ladies

Sorority recruitment is just around the corner & I thought that I exhausted all my resources in saying what needed to be said about this particular time of the year. But no, there is still so much which needs to be said & to keep things on the up & up, I'll proceed without further ado:

It seems that on some campuses, with each passing autumn, fewer & fewer women have been going through Recruitment; why that is the case, I positively don't know. At universities where the Greeks are definitely a minority group, getting quality women into the sorority of their choice, let alone go Greek, can indeed be a challenge. But the next greatest challenge begins with the freshman class: At some colleges, the freshmen have come in record numbers; the next issue is finding out how many will sincerely find the initiative to go Greek. And if plenty of incoming freshmen ladies (among other undergraduate women who are willing to give sorority recruitment a go) should go through the ringer of chapter visits coming up shortly, I have every reason to feel optimistic & each respective sorority whom I'm rooting for should feel the same way as well. There's no doubt that the incoming freshmen could make an impact this year; just how much of an impact they're going to make remains to be seen until the end of next week. But still, I'm hoping for the best & keeping a positive outlook on things :-) And again, I'm wishing every sorority the best of luck during Sorority Recruitment!!

Having said all this, I just wanted to touch on my previous post, a piece which focuses on Bid Day, the crowning moment which closes out Sorority Recruitment. Not only is it a perfect opportunity for those duders who have a favorite sorority (not 3 or 4 of 'em; one will do) they love with a passion to take time out of their day to go out & show their support. As I can speak from experience, I'll say that Bid Day is one of the best days to really show one's true colors not in terms of being proud to be Greek but also showing how strong one's love for his sorority counterparts can be. If that doesn't suffice & if it were up to me to do so, I'd be telling a lot of duders right now, "Your fave sororities will love you for showing up & offering your support on Bid Day." Because I've actually done both of the above, that makes things all the more sweeter.

Once more, ladies, fire up for Fall 2007 :-)
